About the Department
The Cardiothoracic Research Department undertakes are broad range of both cardiac and thoracic research projects, ranging from investigator lead trails, to national and international clinical trials.
About the Role  
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Research Assistant to join the Cardiothoracic Research team on a part time, fixed term basis.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team you will be required to liaise with the Cardiothoracic Department and other departments within St Vincent’s Hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in cardiothoracic research projects and to maintain accurate and timely documentation in relation to research trials. The Research Assistant will also provide information to medical and nursing staff, and contribute to best practice and patient care.
  • Knowledge of clinical and organizational considerations for research activities
  • Customer Service: Identify strategies to provide excellent customer service
  • Information Management - all documentation, information and data management utilizes the best technology available. All data and documentation is stored and maintained to ensure confidentiality, legislative requirements and Good Clinical Research Practice are met.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Registered Nurse or person with Qualifications in other medical fields or Health Information Management,
  • Previous experience working in the coordination of clinical trials desirable
