About the Department
Decision Support Unit consists of two teams - Functional Team and Technical Team. The Decision Support Unit is responsible for collecting and maintaining essential demographic and historical data about individual patients in electronic form, and for reporting on aggregated data to meet the need of internal and external stakeholders. The unit operates and maintains the Patient Administration System (PAS), and provides clinical costing and business performance reporting and certain DHS data extracts. The unit will continue to develop St Vincent's capability to better use our information and data to provide better healthcare.
About the Role 
As a project, you will be tasked to rebuild and enhance the existing activity reporting from the ‘old’ reporting system (SQL Server / Stored Procedures / SSRS) to the 'new' reporting framework (SQL Server / SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular / Power BI or SSRS) .You have high attention to detail, knowledge of the health sector and demonstrated excellent problem solving skills and initiative. To be successful in this role you will bring strong SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS skills. 
  • Create and publish a variety of reports to the health service principally using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI reports.
  • Provide solutions to assist in automating manual processes, streamlining and enhancing clinical and business workflow and facilitating information access
  • Actively contribute in the review, selection and implementation of data management tools to provide seamless access to key information for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement Extract Transform & Load (ETL) process for required information from source systems and ensure data is refreshed in accordance with business requirements using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related discipline
