About the Department
St Vincent's Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre, Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres the department undertakes over 10,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week.
 
About the role
An opportunity currently exists for a Theatre Attendant to join our Operating Theatre on a part time permanent basis (8 hours per week). As a Theatre Attendant, you will actively participate in providing resources and facilities to ensure the effective provision of care to patients undergoing surgery working the stores area, restocking and ordering and cleaning duties.
 
Duties
  • Restock anaesthetic rooms, sterile stores & fluids
  • Set up rooms and all areas associated with the Operating Suite including cleaning as required
  • Ensure all stock is stored as per policies and procedures
  • Liaise with Operating Suite ANUMs to ensure adequate stock levels
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Certificate III Patient Services with Gzunda training
  • Previous experience in a similar position (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Confidentiality with patient and hospital information
